After a night of drinking and taking ecstasy, Motz said his wife stormed out of the club when he paid for a private table dance by a stripper. <P> "There was some argument where she got up and went to get a taxi to go home. He got her in the vehicle and they left. Mr. Motz indicates there was no arguments, no words; he said there was not even no conversation all the way home. And when they got home, she committed suicide," said Cabaniss.

    Jimmy Motz was immediately brought in for questioning after his wife's death and charged with public drunkenness and discharging a firearm. "There were several things about Mr. Motz's behavior that night that just did not seem to coincide with a version of suicide," said Charles Cabaniss of the Rock Hill police.     On the night of the shooting, Jimmy Motz's hands were stained with Melissa's blood. Motz said the blood got on his hands while he tried to help his wife. <P> Police filed a formal report concluding Motz may have killed his wife. "Indications are that James Motz possibly placed the gun under chin and pulled the trigger while they were both seated inside the car shortly before arriving at their apartment," the report said. The case was never prosecuted. <P>

    Jimmy Motz, 54, has never been charged with his wife's murder. In 2007, Melissa's parents won a wrongful death suit against Motz after finding he caused Melissa's death, although the jury did not have to decide whether she committed suicide or he killed her. The new county coroner is now actively reinvestigating the case. <P> Motz's lawyer James Boyd firmly denies his client had any connection to his wife's death. <P> "The bottom line is, when you look at the physical evidence, when you look at what happened, everything is consistent with her having committed suicide," Boyd said. <P> Who pulled the trigger?
