After "20/20" sent the Mulligan children -- Margarita, Elena and Slater -- to Joyce Sterkel's Ranch for Kids, the youths have had mixed results back at home. All three were adopted from Russia, and their parents reported severe emotional problems with Margarita and Slater.
Margarita, 16, started school in the fall and her parents say she is doing much better.
The Mulligans said Slater, however, continues to disrupt their home and has outbursts in school. The 10-year-old now has a police record, accused of allegedly attempting to strangle a classmate on his way home from school. The Mulligans said they are still not ready to give up on their youngest child.
Elena, 13, is a cheerleader and her parents report she is doing great in school.
