After the accident, Rasdall made it her mission to speak out about the dangers of drunk driving. Despite her good will and efforts in the community, she was sentenced to four years in prison.

Rasdall is an inmate at the Lowell Correctional Institution in Central Florida. "I never feel sorry for myself," Jessica said in a prison interview nine months after her incarceration began. "I don't deserve to feel sorry for myself."
