Boy Born With Heart Outside His Body

Because Christopher was born without a sternum, or breast bone, his lungs didn't function properly and he had difficulty breathing on his own. Doctors would perform 21 surgeries before transplanting a portion of Christopher's hip bone into his chest to create a breast bone.
