Transcript for Laci Peterson's mom doesn't think Scott Peterson will get new trial: Part 11
Laci. Now, with Peterson's appeal pending he's speaking out from prison. You want to talk about the verdicts first? Oh, it was crazy there. Horrible. Physical reaction that I had. Scott Peterson's up for appeal and his strongest most compelling argument to get this conviction overturned is jury misconduct. It turns out that one juror didn't disclose that she had to get a restraining order against someone in connection with her being pregnant. And being concerned about her baby. . That he didn't receive a fair trial, he should not have been convicted. I'll be honest, Scott Peterson will never see the light of day again. You know, the question constantly comes up, what created Scott Peterson? What we see with couples expecting their first child the focus has to shift from somewhat being about the two of them to also being about this child. So, the trip wire has to be the pregnanpregnancy. She gets pregnant and now he's stuck. Anything that takes away from me. Scott Peterson is the kind of person we has a problem he has to eliminate it. Scott Peterson is pathological. And when you're pathological you're capable of anything. It's a really dark charisma and people have a very virus ral reaction to that. And he was constantly living very intricate lies and lying about lying that was Scott Peterson. He has no conscience. He does what he wants. Underneath that he's a monster. He's demon. Scott Peterson is where he deserves to be, on death row. How do you two parts, right, how you envision breaking it up. My personal opinion. I don't think there will be a new trial. He's guilty. There's no getting around that. I'm sure there are people who think he isn't but they didn't live what we lived. They weren't there. They don't really know the details that we know. To have to go through a trial again, of course, would be excruciating. But if that's what it takes I'll be there. Laci had a positive attitude. I mean, I was just many times myself I was just in awe of what she would do or say, because I would think I wish I could be that uninhibited and feel that comfortable with myself to do or what she said at the time. That's who she was. I found a paper Laci wrote at 13. The topic was scary movie villains. After a sentence about "Friday the 13th" she wrote, "Watch who you meet in your dreams, the woods, or motels." She could have easily been talking about the seemingly nice, clean-cut guy who surprised all of us by turning out to be a murderer. Watch out who you meet in your dreams.
