Tribute song for Newtown: "I Know You Are Hurting"

Jan. 4, 2012— -- Singer R. Kelly has written and released a tribute song for the victims of the December 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

The gospel song, posted on YouTube under the title "I Know You Are Hurting (Tribute to the Newtown, Ct. Kids)," features a chorus of children belting out lyrics such as "I know you're hurting / I hear you crying / But come tomorrow / There's a place you can go to find a blue sky."

It's currently available for purchase on iTunes, and all proceeds will go to the families of the shooting victims.

Other celebrities have responded to the shooting as well. Daughtry, fronted by American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry, donated proceeds from their single "Gone Too Soon" to the Connecticut School Shooting Victims Fund. Singer and X Factor host Demi Lovato released her own tribute to the shooting victims in December, titled "Angels Among Us."
