Virginia Senate Results: Tim Kaine Projected to Win

Nov. 06, 2012— -- Based on exit polls and analysis of the vote so far, ABC News projects that Democrat Tim Kaine will win over Republican George Allen in the Virginia Senate race.

Both Kaine and Allen served as former governors of Virginia, and the two were involved in a neck-and-neck battle for the seat held by retiring Democratic Sen. James Webb.

Kaine served as chair of the Democratic National Committee early in the Obama administration, and has been a vocal supporter of Obama's Affordable Care Act.
