Lt. Col. Oliver North: The center of the Iran-Contra affair, Lt. Col. North was serving on the National Security Council at the time. From the illegal sale of arms to Iran to the funding of the Contras, North was in charge of the day-to-day affairs of the scandal. North was subsequently fired once details of the arms-for-hostages deal became public in November 1986. He was later indicted on 16 felony counts and found guilty of three, all of which were eventually overturned. North is now a political commentator and host of "War Stories With Oliver North" on Fox News Channel.
