Mexican authorities, acting on intelligence from the interagency San Diego Tunnel Task Force, first raided the tunnel in Otay Mesa on Jan. 24, 2006 and seized two tons of marijuana. Another 200 pounds of marijuana was then seized on the U.S. side.
