Besides concealing hidden caches of drugs, traps also pose a risk to authorities who stop suspicious vehicles, according to New York DEA special agent in charge Gilbride.

"Not only are they concealing drugs and money, they also are hiding weapons; they hide guns and knives so they are concealed but easy to remove," he said. "These pose a danger to any law enforcement officer approaching a car." (DEA)
