  • Suspects Wanted in Connection with Killing of Hamas Commander

    On Monday Dubai police accused 11 European passport-holders of assassinating Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in a Dubai hotel room on January 19. The police released what they said were the names, photos and countries of origins of the suspects. Gail Folliard, 33, of Ireland, seen here, is the lone female suspect.

    According to Dubai police, Kevin Daveron and Gail Folliard are seen arriving together at a Dubai shopping center to meet three other suspects. Daveron would then exit the shopping mall with one of the other three suspects.

    According to Dubai police, two suspects followed al-Mabhouh into the elevator and up to the second floor of the al-Bustan Rotana hotel on the afternoon of January 19. Mabhouh was staying in room 230, while the suspects allegedly rented the room across the hall.

    Mahmoud al-Mabhouh is seen returning to his room at the Al-Bustan on the evening of January 19, where he was found dead the next morning. Israel has alleged that Mabhouh was involved in smuggling Iranian arms into the Gaza strip. Hamas has acknowledged that Mabhouh was involved in the kidnapping and killing of two Israeli soldiers in 1989.
