Cyber Monday Starts Earlier This Year
As wallets tighten, retailers go earlier and earlier.
Nov. 27, 2011 — -- Those not weary from Black Friday's blowouts may find the energy to peruse Cyber Monday deals, many of which actually begin on Sunday this year.
Last year, more than 100 million consumers shopped online on Cyber Monday, according to personal finance security service, BillGuard.
Online shoppers would be wise to comparison shop and maximize the rewards they can earn.
While shopping online, if you have a credit card that rewards you with points, use those racked-up points to purchase gifts for your loved ones, said personal finance expert Farnoosh Torabi with Chase Ultimate Rewards. Chase cardmembers with Ultimate Rewards, for example, can redeem their points for gifts and discounted gift cards. Cardmembers who use reward points to shop on Cyber Monday will also save 25 percent on merchandise at the Ultimate Rewards mall.
"Depending on your points balance, some gifts could even end up being free," she said.
Here is a sneak peek at 18 Cyber Monday deals:
1. AAFES (Army and Air Force Exchange Service)
The Exchange's shopmyexchange.com website will offer "Cyber Monday" deals on Nov. 28 for active and retired military guard and their families who are authorized shoppers for the Exchange.
2. Academy Sports and Outdoors
Cyber Monday deals on academy.com will begin Nov. 29 until supplies last. A spokesman said ustomers can check back daily for specific offers.
3. Ace Hardware
Ace Hardware is offering 10 percent discount off your entire order on Cyber Monday valid from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m EST on Monday acehardware.com only. Offer applies to merchandise subtotal. Tax or shipping and handling charges will not be included in determining merchandise subtotal and are not discountable. Offer not available with any other offer or on previous purchases. Offer excludes sale and clearance items, power tools, power equipment, grills, water heaters, EdenPure heaters and gift cards.

Bass Pro Shops' Cyber Week Sale will feature special prices each day only good for that day.The sale starts on Saturday through Sunday. On Saturday, RedHead hooded jacket in assorted colors, regular $49.99, will have a cyber special price of $29.97. On Monday, for the serious fisherman, the Shimano Curado reel, regular $199.99, will be on sale for $129.97.
