About 850 pieces from the Pugliese Collection, an eye-popping assembly of odds and ends from 20th century pop culture, were auctioned earlier this month in Las Vegas through Guernsey's Auction House. Buyers paid tens of thousands to own everything from suits worn by the Beatles to the Holy Grail discovered by Indiana Jones.

This burlap, leather-front jacket was used by legendary magician Harry Houdini in his straightjacket escape act, but the buyer could not escape the five-figure auction price: It sold for $26,950. (Guernseys Auction House)
