Charles Herman is a business producer with ABC News.

— -- Charles Herman is a producer with ABC News in New York where he oversees the Business News Unit. Before assuming this position, he was the deputy bureau chief in the Los Angeles bureau in charge of news coverage for the western region of the United States. Before that, he was the Miami bureau producer from 2001 to 2003, where he covered events in Florida, the southern United States and in Latin America in such countries as Colombia, Cuba and Venezuela. He began his career at ABC News in the Washington bureau in 1994.

Since joining ABC News, Herman has won a Business Emmy for a series about disappearing pensions and shared an Alfred I. DuPont and a Peabody Award with the news division for coverage of the events of Sept. 11.

Herman graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Berkeley in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in history.
