Survey: More Sex, More Disorganized

April 27 -- Would you rather have sex or dinner? And hows your sock drawer?

A furniture company has done a survey it admits isnt scientific. Its staff came up with the questions based on brainstorming among themselves.

But, if we can believe the answers, then maybe we can surmise what a persons level of organization says about his or her romantic life.

Cooking, T-Shirts and Closets

The survey, for example, found that men who dont organize their sock drawers have sex three more times per month, on average, than men who do.

But men whose socks are more in order were five times more likely to cook dinner for their girlfriends or spouses, according to the survey of 620 people, released this month.

The company, which took no position on the results but, of course, wants people to buy the things that would help them organize also found that:

Registered Republicans are three times more likely to color-code their T-shirt drawers than registered Democrats. Democrats were five times more likely to color-code their files at work.

People who regularly watch the TV show Survivor are four times as likely to fold their underwear as viewers of Friends.

Couples who have closet organizers argue three times more per month than couples who dont. (The company didnt say if it sold closet organizers.)

Sixty-five percent of people who filed their tax returns early claim to ball their socks, while 54 percent of people who file their returns on time or late fold their socks.

Sixty-seven percent of women who color-code their files at work exercise regularly, while only 21 percent of women who have no filing system at work regularly exercise.

Men spend an average of 80 minutes per week looking for the TV remote, compared to seven minutes for women.

Men who own a Palm Pilot were four times as likely to forget their wives birthdays, compared to men who dont.

Only 11 percent of respondents knew where their Social Security cards were.
