Wednesday Strike Set by Aer Lingus Cabin Crew

D U B L I N, Feb. 5 -- Irish state airline Aer Lingus will ground its fleet on Wednesday due to a planned one-daystrike by cabin crew, the company said today.

"It is very regrettable that our customers face disruptionon Wednesday but we're left with no alternative … but to cancelour schedule of operations for that day," the company said in astatement.

Pay talks between Aer Lingus and a union representing cabincrew staff broke down last Friday and no further talks had beenscheduled ahead of Wednesday's action, officials said.
