American Employees Get $150 for Customer Service

American Airlines to pay employees $150 as reward for customer service score

American Airlines said it paid employees an average of $150 each — a total cost of $10.6 million — for helping the company meet customer-service goals in the third quarter.

The bonuses went to about 71,000 employees in Friday's paychecks, the company said.

The payments are part of an incentive plan that lets employees earn up to $1,200 per year for raising on-time performance and customer-experience scores.

American is a unit of Fort Worth-based AMR Corp.
