First Look: 'True Blood' Photos

Sookie (Anna Paquin) is the leading lady of "True Blood." A waitress at a local restaurant, Merlotte's, Sookie has the ability to hear people's thoughts (usually negative), which has proven problematic in forming relationships. Falling in love at first sight with Bill Compton, a vampire, Sookie is over the moon when she realizes she cannot hear his thoughts, providing her much needed peace. A relationship ensues, but by the end of Season 3, the two have split after Bill's true motives are seemingly revealed. (John P. Johnson/HBO)
