— -- Adele's "25" now holds the record for the most albums sold in a week -- and there are still a few days to go.

According to Billboard, "25" has already sold more than 2.4 million copies since last Friday. That beats the record set by 'NSync in 2000 with the band's album "No Strings Attached."

There are more than three days left in the week, which closes at the end of Thursday, so Adele's numbers could soar even higher.

This is Adele's first album since "21" was released five years ago.

"I'm sorry it took so long but, you know, life happened," the singer wrote on Facebook last month about the album's impending release.

"If I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I'm making up with myself. Making up for lost time," she added.
