Miley Cyrus has responded to the teen who invited her to accompany him to prom, and there's good news and bad news. The bad news: she can't go with him. The good news? She wants to spend some up-close-and-personal time with him in his home state.

Phoenix high school student Matt Peterson asked Cryus to his prom in a video. In the clip, he reminisces about meeting her twice before, and invites her to accompany him to the May 3 event by saying, "I promise you it'll be the best night of your life. And if you aren't the slow-dancing type, no worries, I go to public school and grinding is allowed!"

Now Cyrus has responded, writing, "Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom BUT why don't you come to my AZ show & hang w me? Don't forget a corsage."

Cyrus isn't just making an excuse: she can't be in Arizona on May 3 because she'll be in Europe on her Bangerz tour; she has a show in Belgium the following night. Her show in Arizona is on Feb. 27, though, and Peterson has already stated that he'll be "sitting with roses in the 6th row." As you can imagine, he's pretty excited.

Miley Cyrus Gives Advice to Justin Bieber

"I need a tongue tuxedo made by the 27th. THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!!" he tweeted after receiving the singer's invite. The teen, who said he cried the first time he met his favorite celeb, also tweeted to Cyrus, "See you the 27th :) no tears will be shed this time! ..ok maybe a few #mileyprom."
