Feb. 14, 2014 -- Sean Lowe met his wife, Catherine Giudici, during his time starring on "The Bachelor," but he still has a few major issues with the show.

Lowe, who called the reality dating series "cheesy," was reluctant to be a part of it at first, and throughout his time as the star he felt conflicted about it.

"It's unnatural to date 25 women at one time and it felt wrong a lot of the time. A lot of the time it felt wrong," he said in a new I Am Second interview. "I wrestled with it quite a bit thinking, 'I'm pretty sure God opened this door but what if he didn't? What if it's just an opportunity that just came around and what if I'm actually harming my testimony by going on a show and dating multiple people at one time and kissing multiple people?'"

At one point during his time on the show, Lowe was asked about his religious beliefs, and he revealed that he and Giudici were abstaining from sex until marriage. The press, he said, had a field day.

"It was just a firestorm. I mean, every tabloid had me on the cover and they labeled me as 'The Virgin Bachelor,'" he recalled, adding that he had had sex in his early 20s, but always felt "guilty" afterward. "They were just going to view me as a weirdo."

Now, he's happy about the opportunity to publicize his religious beliefs.

"That's now part of my testimony," he said. "It's certainly more evident than ever that I love Jesus."
