— -- Ben Affleck has responded to Jennifer Garner's recent revealing interview about the breakup of their marriage.

"It’s fine. She’s allowed to talk about it," he told The New York Times in an interview ahead of his upcoming film "Batman v Superman."

"She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with," he explained, "so she could say, ‘Look, I already talked about it -- I don’t want to do it again.'"

Earlier this month, Garner told Vanity Fair that Affleck is the "the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He's just a complicated guy. I always say, 'When his sun shines on you, you feel it.' But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it's cold. He can cast quite a shadow."

She also called him "the love of my life."

"I didn't marry the big fat movie star; I married him," Garner told Vanity Fair. "And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He’s the love of my life."

Affleck also had kind words for his ex. Asked about their relationship now, nearly a year after they announced the end of their 10-year marriage, he told The Times, "Jen’s great. She’s a great person. We’re on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that’s the reality that I live in."

He added that in spite of what she told Vanity Fair, Garner and their three children are already planning to visit him in Europe during the filming of "Justice League" so they can vacation together as a family.
