Cameron Diaz Happily Single at 40

At 40, Cameron Diaz has no regrets about being single.

For one thing, marriage "just wasn't the thing I was drawn to," she tells the November issue of UK's Esquire, which she covers. "I certainly didn't want it in my 20s. Or my 30s. So we'll see."

Diaz is not ruling out having children one day either.

"There's still a possibility of that, I ain't that old," she tells the magazine. "Believe it or not, I'm feeling very ... capable."

The super-fit actress who turned 40 in August looks capable too. Flaunting her toned body in sexy lingerie for the magazine, she tells Esquire, "As far as the physicality of it -- I feel better at 40 than I did at 25."

Some of Hollywood's longtime single ladies, like Halle Berry and Jennifer Aniston, are now engaged to be married. But Diaz is in no rush.

"For me, it's about living in this moment, the best that I can," she tells Esquire. "Contentment is about coming to terms with life as it is."

"For the first time in my life I'm content," she says.

Diaz went through several famous men to get to this point. Click through to see the men that the reigning queen of Hollywood's single ladies once dated.

Alex Rodriguez

Diaz called it quits last September with Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, after a year together, according to Us Weekly. Despite their steamy beach getaways and Diaz's jovial relationship with Rodriguez's young daughters, work ultimately came between them, a source told the magazine. "She's very busy with her career," the source said of the star of "Bad Teacher." "And he's had injuries and wants to focus on his game. They're dedicated professionals."

Paul Sculfor

After Diaz's father, Emiliio Diaz, died in 2008, the actress seemed to keep her options open. "I'm in love with love. I'm in love with life," she told W. While she was linked to Bradley Cooper and model Paul Sculfor, it was Sculfor she stepped out with publicly and dated for the next year.

John Mayer

After her breakup with Justin Timberlake, Diaz had a brief dalliance with singer-songwriter John Mayer -- another thing she and Aniston once shared in common.

Justin Timberlake

In 2003, Diaz was considered the older woman when, at the age of 30, she hooked up with 22-year-old Justin Timberlake. Despite their age difference, the two seemed perfectly suited, jetting around the world surfing and skiing, and equally dedicated to their careers. But after four years, they called quits on the relationship, though they continue to collaborate professionally, including in the recent film "Bad Teacher."

Jared Leto

Diaz started her low-profile romance with actor and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto in 1999. The actress would dodge her first wedding rumors, after wearing a $15,000 ring of rose-cut diamonds to the 2003 Golden Globes. Their relationship lasted four years.

Matt Dillon

Diaz met Matt Dillon in Minnesota, where they were both filming. She was making "Beautiful Girls," he, "Feeling Minnesota" when they began their two-year relationship. "I love him incredibly," she told Britain's Guardian in 1997.

Carlos de la Torre

In 1990, a year after she was discovered at age 16, Diaz met and fell for video producer Carlos de la Torre, 27, while shooting an ad for L.A. Gear. "I spent the entire day trying to get him to talk to me," she told People in 1994. Diaz was still with De la Torre when she landed her first movie role, playing opposite Jim Carrey in "The Mask."
