— -- Ernie Hudson has apparently warmed up to the idea of an all-female "Ghostbusters" movie.

After it was announced earlier this week that Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and "Saturday Night Live" stars Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones will headline a new "Ghostbusters" film, Hudson tweeted a link to a story regarding the casting news and wrote, "Two words: 'No comment.'"

However, Hudson, who played Winston in the first two movies in the franchise, now seems to have a more positive outlook. In a tweet published Thursday, he wrote, "Four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts... phenomenal!"

Hudson's original tweet has since been deleted.

Last October, Hudson didn't exactly throw his support behind a female-centric "Ghostbusters" film, telling Britain's The Telegraph, "I love the idea of including women, I think that's great. But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don't think the fans want to see that."

Original "Ghostbusters" star Dan Aykroyd, who co-wrote the first two films, has already given his blessing to the new project. He told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement this week, "The Aykroyd family is delighted by this inheritance of the Ghostbusters torch by these most magnificent women in comedy."

The new "Ghostbusters" film, which will be directed by Paul Feig, is scheduled to debut July 22, 2016.
