— -- Actress Eva Amurri Martino opened up to People Magazine about her recent miscarriage, which she first revealed on her lifestyle website in August.

Martino says that she is overwhelmed by the support for her family and posted an Instagram showing gratitude for all the love and kind words she received after announcing the heartbreaking news.

“I didn’t really know how I was going to feel about sharing, I just knew I felt really strongly about sharing it, Martino told People. “I couldn’t have known how healing it was going to be.”

The 30-year-old actress also talked about the negative stigma surrounding miscarriages, admitting that on occasion she would wonder if she was to blame.

“I totally had feelings like, what if I had done this? And you just have to get that part out of your head,” she said. “People assume there is something that could have been done and it’s not like that."

Martino said that her lifestyle site, Happily Eva After, has been a source of comfort for her and her family.

“What moved me so much was other women speaking to each other and comforting each other on my website,” Martino said.

Martino is married to former soccer player Kyle Martino and is the mother to 13-month-old daughter, Marlowe Mae.
