'Girl Meets World' Star Reveals What It's Like Working With Cory and Topanga

April 15, 2014 — -- “Boy Meets World” fans are eagerly waiting the spin-off series, “Girl Meets World,” set to premiere this summer.

Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will reprise their "Boy Meets World” roles for the highly-anticipated series on Disney Channel, which finds the childhood sweethearts grown up and raising their 12-year-old daughter, Riley.

E! News caught up with Rowan Blanchard, set to play Riley, and August Maturo, who will play Auggie Matthews on the show.

"We are in the middle of filming Season 1, well, I shouldn't say middle, we are towards the end," Blanchard said. "It's going incredibly. I couldn't ask for a better project to work on. Everyone involved, they are all so loving and they have made it such a family show."

The show will follow Riley and her best friend, Maya, played by “Sofia the First” actress Sabrina Carpenter, as they navigate middle school in New York City.

"Ben [Savage] and Danielle [Fishel], they are just my favorite people, they are equally my parents in real life as they are on screen," Blanchard added. "It's such a legacy, it hasn't even hit me yet."

“Boy Meets World” ran for seven seasons on ABC through 2000.
