Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Join 'The Walking Dead' Cast as New Villain

— -- "The Walking Dead" fans should start preparing for a new character to shake things up in Alexandria.

ABC News has confirmed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast as "Negan," a vicious, bat-swinging villain.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morgan will first appear as Negan as a guest star in the season six finale and will continue on as a series regular during season seven.

Morgan is currently appearing as Jason Crouse on "The Good Wife," and can be seen as Dr. Thomas Wayne in the upcoming film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

"The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
