April 24, 2014 -- Jon Hamm knows about the jokes the blogosphere about his appearance.

Not familiar? Google him and you'll find a number of posts focused on his nether-regions and wrought with speculation that the "Mad Men" star prefers going commando.

Jon Hamm Discusses 'Sad' End to 'Mad Men'

"I can’t believe I’m talking about this," he told Men's Fitness, "but I've worn underwear every day of my life, and the fact that I’m painted as this exhibitionist is a little annoying."

Hamm, 43, is the first to admit that with fame come a number of perks (as the spokesman for Mercedes, he gets to drive whichever model he chooses, whenever he wants), but he's not a big fan of paparazzi following him around, especially when the photos lead to a "meme."

Jon Hamm to Undergo Surgery

"Being someone who people want to photograph, you have to open yourself up to the positive and negative. It is what it is. If I get mad at it I’ll look like a douche bag. But it’s silly," he said, while at the same time noting that other stars have it even worse.

"If I were Brad Pitt, [I] wouldn't be able to sit here in this restaurant," he said.
