March 11, 2014 — -- Josh Lucas may have split from his wife Jessica Ciencin Henriquez earlier this year, but that isn't stopping "The Mend" actor from working with her for the benefit of their son Noah.

"We have been through a divorce and divorce isn't something I would wish on my worst enemy," Lucas told People magazine. "Even when in our case we have managed to do it not only amicably but as — hopefully in the end — great friends, particularly because we have a young child that we both truly love."

The actor added that he's so committed to son that even the roles he now takes are influenced by the 20-month-old boy.

"My becoming a father has changed absolutely everything in my life, period. I am more and more wanting to be a part of things that [are] playful and more the things I see my son really responding to and enjoying."

The "Sweet Home Alabama" actor, 42, and Henriquez met in 2011 and became engaged just six weeks later. They married in Central Park in 2012, and had a son Noah Rev on June 29 of that year.

The couple announced their split in January.
