This is Kesha's second chart-topping album; her debut, \"Animal,\" topped the charts in 2010.
Earlier in August, the singer appeared on \"Good Morning America\" and said this is her most personal record yet.
\"I've written every song on this album and they're all so personal and this song I think is just really important because it talks about me personally going through something very hard, lots of very hard things, making it through, not giving up and finding empathy on the other side which is incredibly hard sometimes,\" she said.
The seven years, seven months and 10 days between chart toppers for Kesha is the longest period between number ones for a female artist since 2009.
