They come for the clothes, they stay for the people.
New York Fashion Week is as much about the personalities as what's being paraded down the runway. Case in point: Kylie Jenner's strut through the Abbey Dawn show on Monday. Normally, a 14-year-old model's debut would arouse maybe the arch of an eyebrow, but since Jenner's part of reality TV's royal family, the front row cheered her on, including Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Kris Humphries.
How did Jenner score that gig? It probably helped that her half-brother, Brody Jenner, is dating Abbey Dawn's designer, rocker Avril Lavigne. Click through to see what other celebrities have made headlines this #NYFW:
The "Daily Show" correspondent and "I Don't Know How She Does It" actress may make fans swoon with her physique, but growing up, she loathed her curves. On the red carpet of QVC's Saturday runway show, Munn told the New York Post that as a teenager, she hid her body in baggy clothes.
"I hated becoming a woman for a long time, so I didn't wear a bra for a really long time," she said. "I would wear these long T-shirts, because I just wanted to look like a kid. Around fifth or sixth grade, my mom dragged me into Bloomingdale's and said, 'You're putting on a bra and throwing away all your oversize T-shirts.'"
The orange-hued fashion mogul usually speaks through his high-end designs, but on Saturday night, Garavani (who know Valentino had a last name?) let loose at ex-French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld's karaoke party, joining a couple pals in a rousing rendition of Frank Sinatra's "My Way." The designer also reportedly sang "Unforgettable."
If his song choices seem tame, the party's location was not: Roitfeld held her bash at a former strip club complete with a runway once walked on by disrobing divas. Victoria's Secret model and guest Karolina Kurkova gushed to New York Magazine, "We're having karaoke at a strip club; how awesome is that?"
Cue the "Odd Couple" theme: Nicki Minaj and Anna Wintour turned into the accidental two-some of the week when they took adjacent seats at Carolina Herrera's Monday show. Ice queen editor, meet hip-hop princess. Prim silk dress, meet fuzzy multi-colored balls. Bob, meet beehive. Anyone searching for an off the beaten path Halloween couple's costume, meet your new inspiration.
Vampires take to the night like socialites to champagne. No surprise, then, that "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard owned the evening at Blackbook magazine's 15th anniversary party at the Dream Downtown last week. Herds of iPhone-toting fans congregated around the newly single Skarsgard, who recently split with actress Kate Bosworth. But he sunk his teeth into friendly banter with his "True Blood" co-star, Kristin Bauer.
