Jan. 29, 2013 — -- Cory Monteith made Lea Michele feel like she could do anything she wanted in life.

Six months after Monteith's untimely death, Michele, 27, talked about how the loss of her boyfriend and "Glee" co-star is still affecting her today.

"My relationship with Cory made me feel like I could reach for the stars and more," she told Teen Vogue for its March cover.

She added that his influence and support pushed her to make her debut album "Louder."

"I was like, 'I'm going to challenge myself and do this record now,'" she said. "It's obviously pop, but I think it shows me off as a singer."

In fact, Monteith, who died in July of alcohol and drug toxicity in a Vancouver hotel room, had a major influence on the album itself and Michele's favorite song.

"My favorite song is, 100 percent, 'You're Mine.' I listened to it the other day—it was the one song I had the most emotional reaction to, just because that's my relationship with Cory," she said.

She continued, "I somehow feel the insane love Cory and I had for each other morphed into this strength that I have right now. There's just something about knowing he's watching everything I'm doing and feeling like I have to do everything now not just for me but for him."
