June 26, 2013 — -- The alleged killer of the Louisiana rapper Lil Snupe has turned himself in and been booked into the local jail, police said in a statement.

Tony Holden, 36, was booked into the Winnfield city jail on charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon yesterday, according to a news release from the Winnfield Police Department.

Investigators are continuing to look into the incident, the press release reported.

Holden has a criminal record and is a convicted felon, Lt. Charles Curry, the public information officer for the Winnfield Police Department, told ABC News. No bond is currently set, he said.

Lil Snupe, 18, was shot to death on June 20, according to an Associated Press report. The AP reported that an argument broke out during a video game at a friend's apartment and Lil Snupe was shot twice in the chest.

After he was killed, the AP reported, the police mentioned that they were searching for an "unidentified person of interest." Curry confirmed that Holden was that person of interest. He would not discuss anything regarding Holden's motives.

Curry said that all charges have been referred to the 8th Judicial District of the Louisiana Public Defender Board. A member of that board said it has not yet been appointed to represent Holden.

Lil Snupe, whose original name is Addarren Ross, had recently signed a recording deal with Meek Mill's Dream Chasers label before his death, according to the AP.
