Lorde's Big Role in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1'
The 17-year-old singer had some big news to announce today.
— -- Singer Lorde, 17, will be picking the soundtrack for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 1," to be released later this year.

"i am so pleased and proud to have been announced the sole curator of the soundtrack for MOCKINGJAY - PART 1," she tweeted today. "building this thing piece by piece has been amazing. i can't wait to share the other artists' contributions with you."
She added that she and Joel Little already has written the first single.
While the soundtrack doesn't have a release date yet, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 1" is set to hit theaters in November.
