Mariah Carey Documents Her First NYC Subway Ride in Years
The singer wore a ball gown to ride the train in NYC.

The always fashionable singer decided to mix things up recently and took the subway home after attending the Fresh Air Fund Gala in New York City.
She captioned here Tweets "#subwayincouture," while she wore an elegant blue ball gown riding the No. 1 train and getting off at Franklin Street in Manhattan.

Since she was "underdressed," she decided to take the subway instead of the usual car or limo.
She walked around the city -- even stepping on her expensive dress.
Carey admitted it's been "a while" since she's taken the subway.

She even walked down those steep subway steps in her high heels!
People couldn't believe it.
She finished her trip with a cab ride.
