April 23, 2013 — -- Minnie Driver is back on Twitter!

After taking a quick break because of people who made comments about the 44-year-old-actress's body, she resurfaced with a message for her critics.

"If you want people to stop taking about how you look in a bikini, let them see you naked. It tends to shut them up:)" she posted next to a picture of her Allure magazine spread for the "Nudes" issue.

Earlier in the month, the "About a Boy" actress was photographed on vacation with her son Henry, 5, in Miami while lounging on the beach or by the pool in a bikini, and people tweeted "mean" comments, the actress posted.

"God some people are horrible: you try being photographed when you don't know it's happening, when you're on holiday with your kids," she tweeted on Wednesday.

She added, "I'm out of this Twittersphere for a while. It's too mean sometimes, about your body, about your soul. Not worth it."

Twitter is more than happy to have the star back, especially after she told ABC News a few weeks ago that she was "mad" about the social media tool in a good way.

"It's where I get my news from these days," she said. "As a celebrity, it's having a forum where you can answer the nonsensical rubbish that is written about you or not engage with that. It's given a little bit of control back. I love it."

What a way to get control back!
