Starlets Bare All for Magazines

Slathered in shaving cream and nothing else, singer Jessica Simpson graces the cover of May's Esquire magazine.

While the Simpson photograph is provocative, it's far from gratuitous. The image is a re-creation of one of Esquire's most iconic covers -- a 1965 effort conceived by legendary creative director George Lois, starring Italian bombshell actress Virna Lisi. Thirty-two of Lois' best magazine covers from the 60s and 70s -- including Andy Warhol drowning in a can of Campbell's soup and an arrow-laden Muhammad Ali as Christian martyr St. Sebastian -- are the subject of a new exhibition at New York's Museum of Modern Art.
