Michael Johns, 29, began his performance career as Boomer the Roo, Kip the Kuala and once as Rocky the Rock Lobster during the World Swimming Championships in 1996. It's been a long road from working as a mascot to one of the Top 10 on "American Idol." "It was hilarious," the Buckhead, Ga., resident told Fox. "If it means making $50 in 10 minutes, you know, that was pretty cool when I was 17." However, Johns seems poised to make some big bucks without hiding behind a mask. (Frank Micelotta / FOX)
