Directed by creative mastermind Tim Burton, Disney's new version of "Alice in Wonderland" promises to please the eye, taking Lewis Carroll's 1865 classic, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," to a new 3-D level, featuring both live-action and CGI characters. While the film is not set to premiere until early 2010, here is a first look at some of the spectacular characters and set designs.

Not your ordinary Mad Hatter, Oscar-nominated Johnny Depp takes the role in what will be his seventh collaboration with Burton. The pair's other films together include "Edward Scissorhands," "Ed Wood," "Sleepy Hollow," "Corpse Bride," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street."
