Sam Smith Plans to Use His Grammys as Doorstops

— -- Sam Smith won four Grammys nearly two months ago, but he says he still can't believe that it happened -- mostly because the recording academy hasn't actually sent him his trophies yet.

See, the Grammys you see artists posing with backstage the night of the show are just props: The real ones, with the names and categories engraved on them, are shipped to the artists later.

"It's very surreal. I'm still trying to get used to it in my head. I haven't actually got them," he told London's Capital FM radio. "It's hard for me to think of myself as a Grammy Award-winner without the Grammys."

However, when they do arrive, Smith has special plans for the trophies -- and none of them include displaying the awards on his mantel.

"I wanna think of somewhere funny. I don't wanna just put them up," he said. "I wanna use 'em as, like, a doorstop, or a toothbrush holder or something."

During the interview, the "Stay with Me" singer also addressed the recent rumors that Tom Cruise had reached out to his team because the actor wants to make him a star. Smith said he only heard about that when he saw a news story about it on his phone, and he was really excited that it might actually be true.

"I immediately got through to my management and I was like, 'Please tell me you [just] haven't told me [yet] about the Tom Cruise thing,'" he laughed. "And they're like, 'Sam, we haven't heard anything!' I was like, "Awww!"
