— -- Just two days after the Golden Globes nominations were announced, the Screen Actors Guild announced its own nominations, in some cases departing from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's and, in others, following suit.

Perhaps the biggest surprise was the strong showing by "Captain Fantastic," while the biggest snub was for "Loving." On the TV side, "Westworld" and "The Crown" did well, as expected, while "Orange Is the New Black" got a couple of nominations after being shut out by the Globes.

Take a look at our list of snubs and surprises:

Snubs:

"Loving"

There was no love for "Loving," the true story of the Lovings, whose Supreme Court challenge led to the end of the laws banning interracial marriage. Stars Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton both received Golden Globe nominations, but neither scored a SAG nod, and the film was excluded from the outstanding cast category.

"Sully"

Tom Hanks and his film "Sully" were overlooked by both the Globes and the guild despite its glowing reviews and box office returns.

Taraji P. Henson

Two days after failing to earn nominations for either "Empire" or "Hidden Figures," Taraji P. Henson didn't make the cut for the guild's acting categories. At least the "Hidden Figures" cast was recognized.

"Atlanta"

Donald Glover and his new FX comedy-drama "Atlanta," about two cousins navigating the Atlanta rap scene, was shut out from the SAG Awards, two days after the freshman series earned a Globe nomination for best comedy TV series.

Surprises:

"Captain Fantastic"

That star Viggo Mortensen scored a SAG nomination two days after receiving a Golden Globe nomination wasn't so surprising. What was surprising is that the entire cast received a nod for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, while other, better-known films like "La La Land" and "Florence Foster Jenkins" were left off the list.

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin

These two veteran actors are no strangers to the SAG Awards, but their Netflix comedy "Gracie and Frankie" was overlooked in its first year, and both were shut out of the Globes. Tomlin will also be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award when the SAG Awards are presented on Jan. 29.

"Black-ish"

This is clearly the year that "Black-ish" broke out. After scoring three Golden Globe noms, the series earned a SAG nomination for outstanding cast and another for star Anthony Anderson.

Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt's scoring a nod for "The Girl on the Train" was surprising, since the film received only lukewarm reviews and she hasn't exactly been touted as a contender in this year's very crowded best actress field. Negga, Jessica Chastain, Isabelle Huppert or Annette Bening could easily have taken Blunt's place.

"Orange Is the New Black"

After being shut out at the Globes, "Orange" earned two nods, for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series and for star Uzo Aduba, who won individual SAG Awards the past two years.
