— -- Between her current world tour and her record-breaking Instagram following, Selena Gomez lives most of her private life in the public eye.

The actress and singer, who is the cover girl for Vogue Australia's September issue, opened up to the magazine about her not-so-private personal life.

Gomez, 24, noted that the media tends to cover her love life more than her professional accomplishments. “I figured it’s just temporary," she told Vogue Australia over Skype. "I feel like that, fortunately and unfortunately, it’s where my life is at the moment and I have to accept it.”

Gomez's former romance with Justin Bieber attracted a great deal of attention from fans and the media.

Perhaps its the aftermath of that relationship that's caused Gomez to restrict dating to her circle of friends, a decision she told Vogue she's made "because I think people would think it’s kind of dumb [to date me]. Nobody would want to throw themselves into that situation where it was so heightened publicly, like, why would they?”

But in the middle of her world tour, it's not surprising that Gomez also told the magazine she doesn't have much time to date. “But I like to have fun, I like to hang out,” she said.

And despite her superstardom, Gomez said in the interview that famous guys aren't for her.

“I’d be so stoked with a writer or producer or actor who is low-key, but those kind of guys are terrified of me!”
