Paramount Pictures traces its history back to 1912. Founded by Adolph Zukor and Jesse L. Lasky, the fledgling movie studio's first motion picture was the 1912 film "Les Amours de la Reine Élisabeth," or "The Loves of Queen Elizabeth, Queen of England." It starred Sarah Bernhardt and Lou Tellegen and was directed by Louis Mercanton. (Histrionic Film/The Kobal Collection )
