At 22 pounds, stocky Socrates is more than double the size of a regular cat. But after his vet said the cat was too fat to move, he was put on the strictest of diets, reported the U.K.'s Daily Mail. As one of nine finalists in Pet Fit Club, the U.K.'s People's Dispensary for Sick Animals' annual diet competition, he has 100 days to reach his target weight of 9.9 pounds. No more onion crisps, no more cheese. And he only gets to eat half the amount of food he's been used to. "Because he's long-haired, I hadn't noticed how big his belly was getting," his owner Bill Duncan told the Daily Mail. "When I feed him now, he scoffs it down and looks at me as if to say, 'Where's the rest of it?'" (Courtesy People's Dispensary for Sick Animals)
