Ringo Starr, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison became so popular in the 1960s that girls reportedly fainted at the sight of the four friends from Liverpool. Beatlemania spread to the U.S. after their first single "Love Me Do," was released in 1962. The Beatles remain the best-selling band in history.
