Indy II: Actor Ford in New Chopper Rescue

I D A H O  F A L L S, Idaho, July 11 -- Actor Harrison Ford starred in asearch-and-rescue sequel Tuesday in Yellowstone National Park.

Ford, a part-time Jackson, Wyo., resident who offers his flyingacumen and helicopter for rescue missions, joined a search for amissing Utah Boy Scout who had wandered off a trail and spent anight shivering as rain pelted the park, said the Teton CountySheriff's Office in Wyoming.

'I Already Earned This Badge'

After two hours of flying, Ford spotted 13-year-old CodyClawson, clad in a T-shirt, shorts and sandals, about five milesfrom camp at 8:30 a.m. He landed nearby to whisk the soggy, cold,tired and hungry scout to safety. "Boy, you sure must have earned a merit badge for this one,"Ford said. "I already earned this badge last summer," Clawson replied.

Action Star Old Hand at Chopper Rescues

It marked the second time in a year the actor guided hishelicopter into the backcountry for a rescue. Last July, he plucked an Idaho Falls hiker off 11,106-foot TableMountain in Teton County, Wyo. Megan Freeman climbed the mountain,but altitude sickness and dehydration left her sick and unable toclimb down. Ford picked her up and flew her to a Driggs, Idahohospital. Clawson was separated from the rest of Troop 241 fromHuntsville, Utah, while carrying supplies from a vehicle to acampsite in Loll Boy Scout Camp. He turned up missing around 2 p.m., Monday, and searchers lookedfor four hours before calling Fremont County in Idaho and TetonCounty in Wyoming. They resumed the search at 6 a.m., Tuesday, including a WyomingAir Patrol plane and Ford's helicopter.

Clawson survived the rainy night by taking cover under a rockoutcropping. He planned to resume the scout trip, which isscheduled to end Saturday, said his mother, Peggy Clawson. "Cody said the kids asked if he got an autograph and he said,'No, but I got a hug and a handshake, and that's better than anautograph,"' she said.
