Babies for Ripa, Clapton
June 18 -- Live With Regis and Kelly co-host Kelly Ripa, who left the show temporarily on June 8 to go on maternity leave, phoned in today to announce that she'd given birth to a girl named Lola Grace Consuelos. Lola made her entrance at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and weighed in at a healthy 8 pounds, 3 ounces, reports The Associated Press.
Though she'd initially planned to take just four weeks off from the show, Ripa told Regis that she might have to take a bit longer because the baby is "cuter than we anticipated." Producers have acquiesced, saying that she can have an extra week or two if she wants.
This is the second child for Ripa and her soap star husband, Mark Consuelos, who also have 3-year-old Michael Joseph at home.

Eric Clapton's girlfriend, Melia McEnery, delivered a healthy 7-pound, 1-ounce baby girl last Tuesday in Columbus, Ohio, McEnery's hometown. The 56-year-old guitar legend was at his 25-year-old paramour's side throughout the delivery.
Christened Julie Rose Clapton, this is the musician's third child. He has a 16-year-old daughter, Ruth Kelly, from a previous relationship. In 1991, his 4-year-old son by Italian model Lori Del Santo, Conor, fell 49 stories to his death from Del Santo's Manhattan, N.Y., high-rise apartment. Clapton channeled his grief over Conor's tragic death into the Grammy-winning tribute song "Tears in Heaven."
