June 5 -- A whole lotta shakin's going on over at Fox, where Ally McBeal is undergoing a slew of cast changes for next season.

Four fresh faces will dot the legal show's landscape, including X-Men's James Marsden and Scary Movie's Regina Hall, while alums James LeGros and Lisa Nicole Carson will depart the Ally firm. Marsden is rumored to be replacing Robert Downey Jr.'s character as Calista Flockhart's new love interest.

Exec producer David E. Kelley is apparently eager to finesse the series a bit following Downey's departure. Downey, who won a Golden Globe Award for his guest stint on the show, was let go following his second drug-related arrest in less than a year. His appearance on the season finale was said to be his last.

Castmates Lucy Liu (prissy Ling Woo) and Peter MacNicol (quirky John Cage) are apparently negotiating to cut back on their roles, according to various media outlets.
