May 16 -- This summer's Ozzfest has scheduled 30 shows over two months. Apparently, that's not enough rock for the members of participants Papa Roach, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Disturbed, and Mudvayne. The high-energy rockers are planning a summer mini-fest, to be held on the off days of the main event.

So far only six amphitheater shows have been lined up, though the acts are looking to book more shows, according to the bands.

The Big Day Off dates will shadow the Ozzfest performances. After Ozzy Osbourne's package tour opens with a June 8 show in Chicago and a June 9 show in Wisconsin, the five bands will play June 10 in Missouri. The other five Big Day Off shows are dispersed throughout the two-month Ozzfest, though at some of the gigs, various bands will be missing due to prior commitments.
