A small plane carrying Sting skidded off a runway and smashed through a fence while trying to land at Florence Airport in Italy today, according to Reuters. The singer will soon head to the United States, where he will accept the Kahlil Gibran Spirit of Humanity award on May 5 in Washington, D.C.

Michael Jackson's Spiritual Advisor to Miss Big Show

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach Michael Jackson's spiritual advisor and near-constant companion in public appearances will be absent from his friend's first Stateside performance in years. Jackson's all-star show, celebrating his 30th anniversary as a solo artist, will be held on Sept. 7 at Madison Square Garden a Friday night. "I could be in the best seats in the house, but I'm not going. Shabbos is more important," Boteach told the New York Daily News. "The promoter chose the date. I never brought it up to Michael because I don't want to make an issue out of it. Hopefully, there will be other concerts."
